Take I-94 W about 110 miles from Minneapolis through Anoka, past Elk River, and around St. Cloud and Cold Spring and you will find yourself in New London, Minnesota. The town of around 1,250 that combines with nearby Spicer, is home to one of the toughest 3A Minnesota schools that has produced former Minnesota Vikings and now Carolina Panther WR Brandon Zylstra, his younger brother Shane who is the best receiver in D2 at Mankato State, South Dakota State FB Payton Madison, and a host of other grinders that make their small towns proud every Friday under the Minnesota lights. Having just recently joined the list of accomplished Wildcats is now senior Ethan Haugen.

Haugen with the huge snag.

The two-sport athlete (football and baseball) at NLS was dangerous in all three phases of the game in 2019 as a receiver and running back, defensive back, punter, and punt and kick returner. Finishing the year with eight tackles, two fumble recoveries, four interceptions, 10 catches for 158 yards and a TD, 22 rushes for 225 yards and two TDs, and six kick returns for 186 yards
