The University of Minnesota had their annual "Mega Camp" showcasing high school talent all over the country last Sunday. There were plenty of great players there, but I am going to showcase the players from Minnesota that really stood out.

 

TOP PERFORMERS

Detavius Frierson, LB, Park Center

Frierson is a very athletic linebacker in the class of 2020. He has been very under the radar after having a knee injury before his sophomore season, and his stock has been rising ever since. Detavius is currently about 6'3" 200 pounds, he has slimmed down a bit since the football season. He was the third leading scorer on Park Center's basketball team, and now is playing with one of the best AAU teams in the country Howard Pulley.

 

Sunday night, Frierson was getting reps at defensive end and linebacker. Even though you can clearly tell that he needs to add more strength, you can always see that the potential is there. I expect Frierson to have a monster senior season on the gridiron, and add to his only current offer from Norther Iowa.
